Mike Lindstrom

Michael J. "Mike" Lindstrom, J.D. is a Scottsdale-based executive coach, keynote speaker, author, and human behavior expert. He co-hosts What's Your Story? with Mike & Scott, produced by Highway 99 Media.

Lindstrom was born in Modesto, California. His first job was umpiring Little League, where calling balls and strikes taught him impartial judgment, conflict, and how to read a room. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego and his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego.

Out of law school, in 1998, he joined Tony Robbins's speaking and coaching team as a corporate consultant and executive coach for Fortune 500 companies. He later helped lead and expand the Robbins Coaching Program to thousands of professionals focused on sales and leadership across North America. The tools he absorbed and adapted there — Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Neuro-Associative Conditioning, DISC behavioral profiling, and advanced questioning frameworks — remain central to his work. The through-line is that behavior is readable, and high performers get there by changing patterns.

He then built an independent practice as a keynote speaker, VIP coach, mastermind facilitator, and corporate trainer. Over more than two decades he has delivered more than 3,000 live and virtual training events, specializing in sales strategy and sales culture, leadership communication under pressure, behavioral profiling and team dynamics, influence and personal branding, and reading what people are not saying in a room. Documented corporate relationships include MetLife, RE/MAX International, Northwestern Mutual, HUB International, Aflac, UnitedHealthcare, and Consumer Portfolio Services, plus international work such as Drug Mart of Canada. He is a certified Vistage speaker and trainer. His coaching roster has included Olympic-level athletes such as discus great Suzy Powell-Roos.

In parallel he became a public relationship and communication expert. With Las Vegas motivational speaker Dan Lier he co-authored Men: 10 Secrets Every Woman Should Know from Two Guys That Do (2010). The book and the ASK Dan & Mike brand produced weekend relationship programs, including Las Vegas women's weekends, and appearances on VH1's 40 Most Shocking Celebrity Break Ups. The pair later launched Reality Show Gurus, working with production companies to develop reality formats. Lindstrom also hosted Taboo events in Scottsdale — candid, audience-driven evenings on topics couples usually avoid, including sex, divorce, jealousy, money, and resentment.

As a commentator he has appeared on NBC, Fox News and Fox Business (including 2008 campaign image analysis), CNN/HLN (including commentary on the James Ray case), Howard Stern, VH1, Inside Edition, The List, and local Phoenix television including 3TV. Good Morning America is among the outlets that have cited him on relationship topics.

In 2017 he co-authored What's Your Story?: Discover the Man Behind Your Dad with Vincent Staniforth, published by Post Hill Press. The book uses personal storytelling as a tool for father-son understanding — uncovering the man behind the role, not just the resume. That title and thesis became the through-line of the later podcast. In 2025 he co-launched the in-studio show What's Your Story? with Mike & Scott with sales leader Scott Leese. On air his role is the behavioral scalpel: he slows guests down, notices the flinch, and asks the second question that forces the story past the press-release version.

He has been publicly associated with Ambassadors of Compassion at a co-chairman-level involvement for Arizona youth character and resiliency programming, and with the Arizona Foundation for Women. He is married to attorney and legal television analyst Monica Lindstrom. They live in Scottsdale, Arizona, with their two sons, Rhett and Colt.
