Hugh Lytle is founder, chairman, and CEO of Equality Health, a Scottsdale value-based care company, and an Independent candidate for governor of Arizona in 2026.
Originally from Indiana, he moved to Arizona in the mid-1980s and walked on as a quarterback at Arizona State University. He earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Indianapolis and an M.B.A. from Butler University.
He has founded three healthcare companies. The first, around 1998 to 2003, built prevention and wellness programs and is credited with creating SilverSneakers. The second focused on post-acute care — home health, durable medical equipment, and home infusion. Equality Health, founded in 2015, is a Medicaid-first primary-care platform; by company figures it partners with more than 3,200 primary-care providers serving roughly 750,000 lives across Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Virginia. He was a 2024 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Pacific Southwest finalist and sat on the GreatCall board until its 2017 sale. He lives in Scottsdale and has been married about 27 years; they have three children.
